And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
Welcome to the Emmaus Walk web page. As a child of God, there have been times when it seemed like Jesus wasn't walking with me. Cleopas and his friend while returning from the tomb of Jesus to Emmaus felt the same way. It wasn't until after they stopped and ate with the stranger that joined them, did they realized who he was. This is obvious by their statement in Luke 24:32, "And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
Uncontrollable circumstances can crop up in our lives that leave us feeling like Cleopas and his friend. When we reach the end of the road and have nowhere else to go; it seems like the Holy Spirit slips in beside us and and makes His presence real.
