The Christmas Stocking

Some people ask after reading The Christmas Stocking, where did the story come from. Others wondered if it was something that had happened to me as a child. I have to say, the story has nothing to do with my life experience.

The story started as I was brainstorming for a Christmas idea to enter into a contest. The little boy in the story “Billy,” kept running around in my mind begging to be set free. I knew Billy couldn’t go through this adventure alone, so I teamed him up with an old gray one-eyed tomcat named Sam. His determination to overcome many setbacks allowed me to see the story unfold through a child’s eyes.

I enjoyed writing this story and following Billy in his journey. After the book was published, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that those who read The Christmas Stocking where just as thrilled as I was. I hope you too will buy The Christmas Stocking and follow Billy as he seeks for his parents.
